Our mission is to bring a new vison of the missionary work to the Hungarian Christian Reformed churches and show the Roma people how to live with Christ.

We strive to show the care and love our Father showers us with, the all-encompassing power of the Holy Spirit and spread the goods news of Christ in line with our vision of the missionary work in the most flexible and colourful way.

Being everywhere ...

In communities, we are succeeding in organizing Bible-reading lessons and camps for which we warmly welcome hardworking hands, co-workers and fellow servants, because “The harvest is great …” Our co-workers include chaplains, catechists, educators, enthusiastic volunteers. Now, we are also looking for ways to contact Roma leaders. We maintain close contacts with the staff of the Roma mission of the Reformed Church in Hungary.

Under a larger roof …

The people who worked together in the Roma Mission of the Slovak Reformed Christian Church became an organized working group in 2012. Our church established the non-profit organization Református Cigánymisszió – Reformovaná cigánska misia n.o. (Reformed Roma Mission – non-governmental organization) to secure funding for the cause. Since June 2016, the Reformed Roma Mission, together with the diakonia and prison mission, has been covered by the larger organization Missio Reformata n.o.

Roma Mission Officer

My name is Zsuzsanna Tóth and I come from Vyšné Valice, Rimavská Sobota District. After graduating from high school, I studied Hungarian language and literature and catechetics at the University of Komárno. While teaching religious lessons, I completed my doctoral studies at the Department of Theology in the field of practical theology.

I began my service mission as a volunteer. I have been working as a Roma Mission Officer of the Slovak Reformed Christian Church for almost 4 years. Thanks to the Lord, more and more people are opening their hearts to the service and to the word of God itself.

I would like to seize this opportunity to briefly explain what the mission service has given me: I am happy that more and more people – co-workers and volunteers are joining me in my mission because only through us the Spirit is able to build the kingdom of God. Thanks to the grace of the Lord, I have been serving this great purpose for 8 years, but “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him.”(10:34-35)

It all starts with the first step. Christ does not build bridges, but break down walls: walls of fear and prejudice, and builds a bond of love instead. I never thought I would cry, laugh, pray, sing, eat with the Roma. They only need to be approached with the word of God, the Bible, good words, a song. I will ask those who failed to pray for those who have done their first step.
